Salon Receptionist

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using salon management software and basic office applications.
  • Customer-focused attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred.
  • Knowledge of salon services, products, and beauty industry trends is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Payment Processing: Ring up client purchases accurately using the salon’s point-of-sale (POS) system. Accept cash, credit/debit cards, digital payments, and gift cards. Calculate and provide accurate change for cash transactions.

Customer Interaction: Greet clients at the cashier counter, answer their questions about pricing, promotions, and products, and provide friendly and courteous service.

Receipt Generation: Issue receipts for all transactions, clearly outlining the services or products purchased and their respective costs. Ensure the accuracy of information on receipts.

Cash Handling: Safely handle cash, adhere to cash handling procedures, and maintain the security of the cash register and the salon’s funds. Reconcile the cash register at the end of each shift.

Product Sales: Promote and sell salon retail products during the checkout process, offering recommendations based on client needs and preferences.

Appointment Coordination: Assist the receptionist with appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and confirmations during peak periods or as needed.

Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the cashier counter and surrounding area clean, organized, and free from clutter. Ensure that promotional materials and displays are well-presented.

Reporting: Generate and maintain reports related to daily sales, cash transactions, and inventory levels. Provide relevant information to salon management as required.

Problem Resolution: Address client concerns related to payments, pricing, or purchases in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with the salon team to resolve any issues.

Cash Reconciliation: Reconcile daily cash and credit card receipts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous cash handling and cashier experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills.
  • Strong numerical and math skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions.
  • Ability to multitask and remain composed during busy periods.
  • Professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Knowledge of salon services and retail products is a plus.
